After months of anticipation, one of the most iconic bands in rock and roll history has finally hit road for the first time in nearly a decade on a tour of the U.S. and it was worth the wait.

AC/DC arrived in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 26, inside the confines of Allegiant Stadium for just the fifth show of the band’s current “Power Up” tour and around 70,000 people of all ages enjoyed a stellar show from Angus Young, Brian Johnson and the rest of the band.

For more than two hours, AC/DC delivered hit song after hit song with a few gems tossed in for good measure much to the delight of the fans in attendance. The 21-song set kicked off with “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)” and then jumped right into one of the band’s most well-known songs, “Back in Black,” before offering fans a little taste of “Demon Fire” from the group’s most recent album, “Power Up,” was released in November 2020.

Johnson wasted little time with chit-chat with the audience as Young and the rest of the group kept churning out song after song, including rock radio staples such a “Shot Down in Flames,” “Thunderstruck,” “Hells Bells” and more.

The staging was huge, the video display screens were huge, the sound was loud, and the fans were in a frenzy, especially during the Angus Young guitar solo following “Let There Be Rock” during the latter portion of the set. Angus still has the energy and the chops, but the 15-minute solo was a bit much as many fans would have preferred to hear more songs in the set.

The band brought the Las Vegas show to a close with hit songs “T.N.T.” and “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You),” which including six cannons on stage much to the approval of the roaring fans.

This group has been rocking for more than 50 years, and there is no guarantee AC/DC will make another trek across the United States again. I highly recommend that you go see this legendary act while you have the chance and appreciate what a true rock and roll band is.
