Southeast Texas-native and country music star Mark Chesnutt has been forced to postpone multiple concert appearances due to a recent medical situation.
According to his official Facebook page, Mark Chesnutt "experienced a heart health issue over the weekend" that required the country singer to be hospitalized on Sunday, June 16. As it turns out, Chesnutt underwent "emergency quadruple bypass surgery" and his recovery period leaves him unable to fill current tour committments.
Chesnutt was scheduled to perform at the Golden Nugget Casino in Lake Charles, La. on Friday, June 21. The show has been rescheduled to Dec. 13, 2024. All tickets purchased will be honored for the rescheduled date. Guests unable to attend the new date are able to obtain refunds at the point of purchase until 10 a.m., Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Chesnutt issued a statement regarding his current situation on his Facebook page as well.
"It is with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of my upcoming shows," Chesnutt announced. "I send my love and gratitude to my family and friends, the band and fans for your understanding, prayers and support, and look forward to seeing you all again soon at a honky tonk near you."
