Sammy Hagar and Friends to celebrate VH legacy

Arguably the most anticipated tour of the summer arrives in the Houston-area this Friday night.

Sammy Hagar and his All Star Band will perform at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands this Friday, Aug. 23, with special guest Loverboy. The gates open at 6 p.m. with Loverboy hitting the stage at 7 p.m. A limited number of tickets are still available at www.Ticketmaster.com and the show is open to all ages.

Hagar’s band features some well-known musicians, such as guitarist, Joe Satriani; drummer, Jason Bonham; and bassist, Michael Anthony. Hagar and Anthony spent many years together as one-half of the world famous band, Van Halen, along with the Van Halen brothers, Eddie and Alex.

Sammy Hagar has always managed to include a few choice Van Halen tunes into his solo concerts, but this tour is a bit more special as Hagar and friends will be filling a majority of the set with various Van Halen tunes sure to please many die-hard fans.

The tour is an unofficial tribute to the late, great Eddie Van Halen, who passed away in 2020 following a battle with throat cancer.

Visit www.woodlandscenter.org for more details about this once-in-a-lifetime concert and the other events at the venue.
